Summer's Over?!

I cannot believe how fast this summer went. Colby and Parker are back in school and so far, both are really enjoying it. (I hope it lasts!) Parker is a sophomore at Davis High. Go Darts! He is liking life in high school and loves having senior friends that can drive. Colby started 8th grade and is back into the swing of things. He has also started football, which we all love. His team is doing very well and hoping to go to the Mini Bowl again.

On the Job Injury

Parker had his first experience with a work place accident this week. While going to the walk in freezer to retrieve some hamburger patties, he got his finger caught in the locking mechanism. It hurt so he pulled his finger back quickly. With burger patties in one hand, he looked down at the injured hand to find his glove was very bloody. This discovery made him quite queesy. He somehow managed to find his supervisor, they called the on staff EMT who gave him a ride to Safety and Security in a wheelchair. Now most people would be a little embarrassed to ride through Lagoon in a wheelchair, but Parker is very proud of this accomplishment. He is somewhat fascinated by wheelchairs and in fact would like to own one. The EMT "patched" him up (in his words) and Parker chose to finish the rest of his shift. Way to go! We are so proud to have such a dedicated worker on our hands. (Oh yea, it probably didn't hurt that he had just spent all but about $5.oo on a new PS3.)

Debut Post- Happy Birthday, Happy Braces

Colby is the winner of our first blog post. He got his braces on this week just a few days before his 13th birthday. We went out to Five Guys for his birthday dinner. (He chose.) Even without the bands on he couldn't open wide enough to eat his burger...so he ate it with a knife and fork. I wanted to take pictures but Josh wouldn't have it.
