Seven Peaks

On the 24th of July, Colby and I went to Seven Peaks with the Harris'.  It was so much fun.  The kids had a blast on the slides and Stacy and I relaxed in the lazy river when we weren't watching them risk their lives!

Youth Conference

Back in January, Allen and I were asked to head up our wards Youth Conference this year.  We had a great committee with 2 other couples from the ward.  It was a lot of work to plan and carry out but it turned out to be a lot of fun.  I think it was a success.  YC was July 20th and 21st.  On Friday, we started out with the Amazing Race.  We did 2 service projects, one within the ward doing yard work and another, collecting food and working at the Bountiful Food Pantry.

The teams had to figure out clues and get to each destination for their next clue or challenge.  Some did better than others.

Lunch at the park. (above the Farmington Cemetery)

We finished the race off with a mechanical bull.  Hold on Tight!  (That was the theme for the conference.)

We ended Friday with a fun barbeque, games, and of course a water fight broke out.

Saturday we were up bright and early for breakfast, then we headed to Willard Bay.  We played Faith Fear Factor and then everyone spent the afternoon playing in water, tubing and wakeboarding.

We ended the weekend with a nice dinner and speaker.  It was a lot of fun, but honestly I'm glad it's over.

The Last One

It was time for our last boy to get his learners permit.   The day we went, there was a huge crowd.  It was the end of the month and I should have thought about that.  We stood in line to get our number and then waited.  He was called up for the eye exam and then given his information to take the test.  He went back to the computers, while I waited.  As I waited, a girl finished her test and then came to tell her dad that she had not passed and asked if she could try again.  Oh dear.  Not 2 minutes later another young lady came from the testing computers and with tears in her eyes, told her mom that she hadn't passed.  Was it going to be that kind of day?  Colby finally finished and stepped up to the desk, did he pass or not?  Why didn't he come tell me?  I finally got his attention and gave him a questioning look?  Did he pass the first time or was he facing the same fate as the 2 girls?  Then I saw the grin.  He passed!  Yeah!
