Easter

Our family gathered at the Harris' for an Easter Party on Saturday.  We had a great dinner and then the kids had a quick Easter Egg hunt.  It was quick because it was so cold.  It was very windy and cold and even snowed a little off and on.

The boys always find something exciting to do when they are together.  Check out the shoes on top of the shed.  Before the basketball game, they were taking turns jumping off the shed onto the trampoline.

It is always so nice to spend time together.

Spring Break

We are all so ready for some nice weather...but it seems elusive. While the kids were out of school for spring break, we went in search of sunshine. (But there was none to be found.) Allen took a few days off work and so we took Colby and Parker to Las Vegas. We stayed at the Silverton Hotel- it is off the strip and thought it would be a nice place to relax by the pool for a few days. It didn't hit 60 the entire time we were there. It was overcast and windy. Since we couldn't enjoy the outdoors, we spent most of our time eating and shopping and eating.

The first stop on Friday, Bellagio for Brunch... Delicious...that's edible silver on the strawberry. And yes, we ate dessert for breakfast.

After eating we went to see the Conservatory. I personally love this place. I am always amazed at the beautiful things they can do. This time, there were spring flowers everywhere, a Ferris Wheel and a Carousel.

We hit a few of the outlet malls and the boys found some new shoes. (Can never have too many shoes.) We had heard about this "Buffet of Buffets" pass, you buy the pass and it's good for 7 buffets for 24 hours. You can eat as many times as you'd like.  It was expensive and we weren't sure if it would be worth the money. We decided to try it, so we bought it at 8:00 pm on Friday night. This way we could get dinner, breakfst, lunch and dinner again. We started our food marathon at the Paris .

We also had breakfast the next morning at the Paris. Made to order crepes. Need I say more? The omelets were also delicious.

                                                      Next stop, lunch. Caesar's Palace.

More incredible desserts!!

After eating, we walked out to see the pool area.  It was so pretty.  All the bushes were perfectly trimmed.  It was cold and windy, so it was almost empty.  On a nice day, I'm sure it's full of sun seekers.

The Aria is a new resort that we have never seen.  It had some interseting things.

There was an amazing pastry store.  Lots of stuff made entirely out of chocolate.

We crossed the Buffet Finish Line at Planet Hollywood.  It was the best food and best service with more  great desserts and COTTON CANDY

It was fun to get away and spend time with the boys.  We just wish we could have come home with at tan.

Maiden Voyage

Last month we bought a boat. It is in really good shape and everything looked fine but we didn't know if it would run. We waited as long as Allen could stand it and finally took it out. We went to Willard Bay and put it in the water...and it started right up. (After I pushed all the right buttons.) It wasn't a very nice day, overcast and a little breezy, so we didn't stay too long. We drove all over the bay and let the boys take turns driving. We were thrilled that it ran well. Can't wait for summer to really get out and use it.

Colby and Ronnie

Ronnie Price of the Utah Jazz was at the cell phone store where Alisha works. Colby was so excited to meet him. We stopped on the way and bought a new Jazz t-shirt for him to sign. It was so much fun to see Colby so happy to meet him. There was hardly anyone there, so there was no line and Colby got to chat with him for a minute. I had the camera with me, but when I went to take the picture, the batteries were dead. So embarrassing. So I pulled out my phone, which doesn't have a great camera and took a picture or two. Then Alisha gave me her phone to use and we took some more. I felt like a stalker.

Driver's Ed.

What's there to say? Driver's Ed! Parker has done a super job in driver's ed. He only missed 2 on his driving test. His teacher said he had an awesome parent teach him how to drive. I wish I would have had my camera on the day I went to pick him up from the driving range so I could have zoomed in on him. He was so bored. He didn't have a partner that day, and had to drive by himself the entire time- almost 2 hours. He thought he was going to fall asleep. (So did his teacher.) It's a good thing they are only allowed to drive 5 mph, if they went any faster the paint would blow off. They are some real nice rides. Now all he has to do is wait. (For his birthday.)
