Spring Break

We are all so ready for some nice weather...but it seems elusive. While the kids were out of school for spring break, we went in search of sunshine. (But there was none to be found.) Allen took a few days off work and so we took Colby and Parker to Las Vegas. We stayed at the Silverton Hotel- it is off the strip and thought it would be a nice place to relax by the pool for a few days. It didn't hit 60 the entire time we were there. It was overcast and windy. Since we couldn't enjoy the outdoors, we spent most of our time eating and shopping and eating.

The first stop on Friday, Bellagio for Brunch... Delicious...that's edible silver on the strawberry. And yes, we ate dessert for breakfast.

After eating we went to see the Conservatory. I personally love this place. I am always amazed at the beautiful things they can do. This time, there were spring flowers everywhere, a Ferris Wheel and a Carousel.

We hit a few of the outlet malls and the boys found some new shoes. (Can never have too many shoes.) We had heard about this "Buffet of Buffets" pass, you buy the pass and it's good for 7 buffets for 24 hours. You can eat as many times as you'd like.  It was expensive and we weren't sure if it would be worth the money. We decided to try it, so we bought it at 8:00 pm on Friday night. This way we could get dinner, breakfst, lunch and dinner again. We started our food marathon at the Paris .

We also had breakfast the next morning at the Paris. Made to order crepes. Need I say more? The omelets were also delicious.

                                                      Next stop, lunch. Caesar's Palace.

More incredible desserts!!

After eating, we walked out to see the pool area.  It was so pretty.  All the bushes were perfectly trimmed.  It was cold and windy, so it was almost empty.  On a nice day, I'm sure it's full of sun seekers.

The Aria is a new resort that we have never seen.  It had some interseting things.

There was an amazing pastry store.  Lots of stuff made entirely out of chocolate.

We crossed the Buffet Finish Line at Planet Hollywood.  It was the best food and best service with more  great desserts and COTTON CANDY

It was fun to get away and spend time with the boys.  We just wish we could have come home with at tan.
